Microsoft today released 238 pages of update notes for its upcoming October 2018 releases of its ERP and CRM Dynamics 365 applications.
Microsoft said last month that the company would adopt a biannual update schedule. Dynamics 365 apps will be updated in April and October. Around the same time as Office 365 ProPlus and Windows 10.
The October update includes more than 100 new features for:
- Dynamics Sales
- Marketing
- Customer service
- Portals and the omnichannel engagement hub
- On-site service and project service
- Social engagement
- Finance and operations
- And products and services.
Dynamics 365 AI for Sales
The new Dynamics 365 AI for Sales app aims to help sales teams. These include using technologies such as call sentiment analysis and warnings about risky transactions. This application will be in public preview from October 2018.
In addition, the company continues to work to more closely integrate Dynamics 365 with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, LinkedIn, the Microsoft Stream video platform, Azure, Azure IoT Central, Outlook and more.
The integration between Dynamics 365 Sales and Teams, linkedIn InMail relationship analysis and predictive lead scoring will be in public preview starting in October. An overview of the integration between Microsoft Teams and Dynamics 365 for Sales will be available in October. As well as further integration between LinkedIn and Dynamics 365 for Marketing. Finally, Skype, Microsoft Stream and Dynamics 365 for Talent will also be closely linked.
Microsoft also continues to focus on the applicability of its HoloLens augmented reality glasses to the company’s business applications. As part of the integration of the October 2018 update with Remote Assist, Microsoft’s new hands-free video calls and Microsoft Layout, allow space planners to design their own Spaces.
The company also continues to advance its updated Common Data Service, which is part of its Power Platform, with the October 2018 release.
